International & Area Studies offers funding opportunities for students Asian, Latin American, Middle East, and International Studies to offset the cost of travel to present research at a conference.

IAS Research Grants
When to Apply: Grants are considered monthly
How to Apply: Complete the Research Grant Application
Eligibility
- Applicants must be enrolled graduate or undergraduate students at the University of Utah at the time of application and at the time the funds will be used
- Applicants must be declared within one of the academic programs: Asian Studies, Latin American Studies, Middle East Studies, or International Studies
- Applicants must be working collaboratively with a University of Utah faculty member on a research project and must be presenting at a conference
- Requested funds may only cover the applicant’s future research-related expenses
Research Grants
- Funding from the research grant (max $250) may cover expenses for future airfare, lodging, conference registration, etc.
- Students may be awarded only one research grant.
