Transfer Student Guide
Welcome to International and Area Studies!
Through our majors and minors, students can complete interdisciplinary coursework focused on a region of the world or globe theme and pursue language study with the support of a Foreign Language and Area Studies scholarship or through courses in the Cultures and Languages Across the Curriculum initiative.
International Studies
A minimum of 12 International Studies courses totaling 36 credit hours must be completed successfully.
A portion of these courses may be completed through transfer credit from Salt Lake Community College.
Asian Studies
A minimum of 13 Asian Studies courses totaling 39 credit hours must be completed successfully.
A portion of these courses may be completed through transfer credit from Salt Lake Community College.
Latin American Studies
A minimum of 12 LAS courses totaling 36 credits must be completed successfully.
A portion of these courses may be completed through transfer credit from Salt Lake Community College.
Middle East Studies
A minimum of 11 Middle East Studies courses totaling 33 credit hours must be completed successfully.
A portion of these courses may be completed through transfer credit from Salt Lake Community College.
