- attend scholarship workshops
Prioritize deadlines & ask for letters early
- read up on asking for letters of recommendation
- most academic year scholarship deadlines fall between Jan - March
- most Learning Abroad scholarships are due at least one semester (somtimes a year) before your program date
Write drafts and ask for feedback
- cosider working with a Student Success Advocate on your draft
- make an appointment with someone in The Writing Center
- meet with someone in the Career & Professional Development Center to review your resume
Celebrate and send thank you's
- no matter what happens with the scholarship, let your recommenders know the results
- send a thank you card or email to each of your recommenders
